TecQuipment Thermal Power Plant with Steam Turbine TD1060V
A mobile, lab-scale Thermal Power Plant with Steam Turbine is ready to demonstrate the fundamentals of thermodynamics and measurement of mechanical power. Water from a reservoir is drawn into a thermostatically controlled flash boiler, thereby producing steam that drives a single-stage axial turbine. The turbine is connected to an electric dynamometer for the accurate measurement of its power output. Used steam cools down and condenses in a steam-to-air heat exchanger. Cooling fans assist in adjusting the temperature of return water. Preheating feedwater enhances overall efficiency. Included is TecQuipment's VDAS Onboard system that captures data in real time, enables monitoring and calculations, and produces real charts directly on a computer. This self-contained compact unit allows students to study energy conservation, thermal efficiency, Rankine cycle analysis, and steady-flow energy equations in a practical laboratory environment.
