Quanser QArm
The QArm is a 4 DOF serial robotic manipulator designed for modern engineering education and academic research. It features a roll-pitch-pitch-roll joint configuration, providing a large reachable workspace for interacting with objects. Its two-stage 5-contact tendon-based gripper allows handling of various shapes while measuring grip strength via current sensing. The integrated RGBD camera supports inspection and visual servoing tasks, making the arm capable of adapting to unknown environments. QArm can be controlled via a computer using a USB interface or through microcontrollers such as Raspberry Pi, providing students with hands-on experience in robotic system design and practical application development.
