Quanser Coupled Tanks System
The Coupled Tanks System is a process control experiment developed for teaching and research in liquid level control. It is designed to support studies in control systems, dynamics, electromechanical control, and industrial process control. The system uses a single pump to move water from a lower basin to the upper section, where flow behavior can be adjusted through configurable outflow valves. Each tank is equipped with pressure sensors that enable accurate measurement of water levels during operation. By changing flow paths and outflow orifice sizes, the setup allows learners to analyze different control behaviors. Multiple units can also be interconnected to extend studies from single-input single-output configurations to more complex multi-input multi-output scenarios.
