Quanser 2 DOF Ball Balancer
The 2 DOF Ball Balancer is a vision control module which helps in understanding medium to advanced-level electromechanical control principles. The module consists of a movable plate on which a ball can move freely; two rotary servos in the base units control the movement of the plate by changing its angle of tilt, thus positioning the ball on a plane. A digital camera above captures images of the ball in real time and transmits data of its positions to a computer, which helps in processing control algorithms. With the controller provided, this module helps in positioning or path-following control of the ball or its balance control on the plane.
