TecQuipment Liquid Sedimentation Apparatus

The Liquid Sedimentation Apparatus forms a self-contained bench-top teaching apparatus designed to study the settling characteristics of suspended solids in a liquid and to demonstrate wall effects during sedimentation. The apparatus consists of several transparent columns that allow for clear visual observation of particle movement and the development of settling with time. It is designed for controlled laboratory studies whereby students prepare a slurry, observe the formation of sediment, and measure settlement depth and settling time. A backlit translucent panel provides enhanced visibility, while removable columns enable preparation before each test is conducted. Using the provided measuring devices, the student will be able to undertake repeatable experiments to enhance their learning of the characteristics of sedimentation in liquids under static conditions.
